the STORY
Success without connection is hollow.
Hey there, I’m Cristina — and this is how Women in Motion began.
Three years ago, after moving to Stockholm, I found myself in one of the loneliest seasons of my life.
Life looked great on paper — career, achievements, all the things that should feel like success. But inside, I was running on empty. Burnout had crept in, and the community that once held me in the Netherlands was suddenly gone.
What I missed wasn’t big moments — it was the small, grounding ones: grabbing coffee with someone who gets you, joining a yoga class with a friend, or asking “is this just me?”
Then, something shifted. I started meeting incredible, strong women — and my spark returned. Many of them were feeling the same: capable, yet craving real connection.
The first Women in Motion gathering wasn’t polished — just four women playing padel badly, laughing, talking about PMS, and sharing books. But it felt like a beginning. A reminder that we don’t need to perform to belong.
As a designer, I approached it like a creative process: identify the need, design a solution. The result was Women in Motion — a space where women move, connect, and grow together. A place where we celebrate both strength and softness, joy and struggle, progress and pause.
Movement isn’t only physical. It’s emotional, creative, and collective. And when women move together — in every sense — we build resilience, energy, and belonging.
